Edmonton Family Hotels with Bikes for Guests

I chose these hotels because four of them list free bicycles, which is rarer than you might expect in Edmonton. Two more, Fairmont Hotel Macdonald and Delta Hotels Edmonton Centre Suites, do not list bikes, but I kept them for their river valley views, kids club or game room. I say which is which below, so you can book with the right expectations.

Campus Tower Suite Hotel is the hotel I would choose for a cycling trip on a budget. This 3-star sits beside the University of Alberta campus, offers free bicycles and has a kitchenette in every suite, which helps with packed lunches for a day on the trails. University LRT station is about 500 metres away, so you can also leave the bikes and take the train downtown. The campus sits on the south bank above the North Saskatchewan River Valley, which gives families a short ride to the river trails. It is also pet-friendly, with a fitness centre and an on-site restaurant and bar.

JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District is the downtown choice. It lists free bicycles alongside an infinity pool, an indoor pool, a spa and a kids club, and it has interconnected family rooms, which matter with older children who want their own space. Rogers Place is 200 metres away and the Shaw Conference Centre about 12 minutes on foot. Its family-friendly restaurant offers vegetarian and gluten-free options. I would pick it when the plan mixes cycling with an evening event or swimming, rather than for a quiet base, since the ICE District is the busiest part of central Edmonton.

On the west side, Element by Marriott Edmonton West and Courtyard by Marriott Edmonton West both list free bicycles and sit about 3.1 km from West Edmonton Mall. Element has an indoor pool, a hot tub, a fitness centre and a sofa bed in every room, plus an American buffet breakfast. Courtyard adds a pool with a view, an indoor pool, a terrace and an outdoor fireplace, and its restaurant serves Indian, American and Asian dishes. I would choose these two for families who plan a day at the mall and want bikes for a quieter morning, and both welcome pets as well.

Two hotels on this page do not list bicycles, so I want to be clear about them. Fairmont Hotel Macdonald is a heritage hotel overlooking the North Saskatchewan River Valley, about a kilometre from Rogers Place, with an indoor pool, a spa and a kids club, and it received a 2025 Michelin Key distinction. Delta Hotels by Marriott Edmonton Centre Suites connects directly to Edmonton City Centre Mall and the downtown light rail, with a game room and family suites. Both are good family bases, but for cycling you would need to arrange bikes separately, so ask the hotel first.
