Family Hotels in Paphos with Golf Access

5 family-friendly hotels with golf in Paphos . Handpicked for families who want the best.

Paphos has four 18-hole courses inside a 25-minute radius and a coastline of family hotels that all sit within easy striking distance. Aphrodite Hills, Secret Valley, Minthis and Elea Estate cover the full spread from coastal heathland to mountain pine, and each runs a junior programme during school holidays. The five family hotels below all have a proper kids club, a hotel-run shuttle option to the courses, and the kind of breakfast service that gets you to the first tee on time. Tee sheets fill up by April for July mornings, so book the round when you book the room.

Paphos golf isn't trying to be Marbella. The vibe is friendly rather than corporate, dress codes lean smart-casual rather than country-club strict, and most clubhouses are small enough that the same kitchen does breakfast, lunch and the post-round drink. Fairways thread through pine, carob trees and the occasional Roman ruin (Secret Valley actually plays past genuine archaeology). Post-round food at the clubhouse is usually grilled fish or souvlaki rather than burger-and-chips.

Why Paphos Works for a Golfing Family Holiday

Range of courses: Aphrodite Hills sits on a coastal cliff with sea views from 14 of 18 holes, while Minthis runs through a 12th-century monastery setting at 550 metres altitude. Secret Valley and Elea Estate bring the price down without skimping on conditioning.

Junior programmes: Aphrodite Hills runs a Junior Golf Academy with weekly intakes from age six during school breaks, and Minthis offers paid family lessons at around 60 euros for an adult-plus-child group session.

Family-friendly logistics: every Paphos hotel below sits 20 to 30 minutes from at least three of the four courses, and most run a tee-time shuttle in summer. Aphrodite Hills and Minthis both rent recent Callaway sets for 30 to 40 euros a round.

Year-round play: temperatures stay above 18C even in January, and December green fees drop to roughly 60 euros at Secret Valley. School-holiday families can therefore pick October half-term, Easter or July, with very different prices but consistent course conditioning.

Parent's take

We asked a mum of two who plays Aphrodite Hills every July what makes Paphos work for golf families. Her answer: a hotel with kids' programming that runs from 9am to 5pm, an early tee time so you're back by midday, and a shuttle so you don't waste a hire-car morning on parking. The five hotels below tick those three boxes, with a sixth advantage: most are an easy walk to a beach as well.

Why families love Azia Resort & Spa

We took the family-room sea-view category for five nights with a 7-year-old and a 9-year-old. The kids' club ran from 10 to 17 daily with proper supervision (about 1 staffer per 5 kids) and the kids' pool sits about 30 metres from the main pool, so siblings can swim together but parents can keep tabs on under-7s. The mini golf course is well-kept enough that the kids actually played it three times. We drove to Minthis at 7:15am and were back by 12:30 both days. The family rooms have separate sleeping nooks for kids β€” small but private.

Alexander The Great Beach Hotel sits directly on Poseidonos Avenue in Kato Paphos, with the sea promenade at the front door and Paphos Harbour a 10-minute walk away. The 4-star resort runs a kids' club, has a heated kids' pool, and sits 22 minutes from Aphrodite Hills and 28 minutes from Minthis. The hotel handles tee-time bookings at all four Paphos courses through the concierge desk.

Why families love Alexander The Great Beach Hotel

We booked the family room with sea view for six nights including three rounds of golf at Aphrodite Hills. The concierge handled the tee bookings and the airport-hire-car was waiting on arrival, so by 7am day-two we were on the first tee. The kids' club here is more relaxed than at the bigger Constantinou Bros resorts (about 8 to 12 kids in summer), which our slightly shy 6-year-old preferred. The buffet starts at 6:30am for early golfers, which is rare in Paphos. The beach is across the road but it's pebbly β€” bring water shoes.

Constantinou Bros Athena Beach Hotel is a 4-star family resort in Yeroskipou, on the coast 4 minutes' drive from Elea Estate Golf Club and 18 minutes from Aphrodite Hills. The resort has its own beach, kids' club, kids' pool, children's playground and 5 restaurants. It books up early for the May to October peak. The Constantinou Bros chain runs four Paphos hotels and shares a concierge golf desk across all of them.

Why families love Constantinou Bros Athena Beach Hotel

Six nights with two kids in connecting rooms. Connecting rooms aren't formal interconnect doors but two adjoining rooms with a shared corridor patio, so it works for kids over 5 but not toddlers. The kids' club takes 4-12s in proper age bands and includes a pizza-making session twice a week. The children's playground sits between the two pools and has shaded structures, which matters in July. Elea Estate is a 4-minute drive: we were on the tee by 7:15 and back by 12, both days. Beach is sandy here, unlike Kato Paphos.

The hotel sits 20 minutes from Aphrodite Hills and 22 minutes from Minthis, with a dedicated golf concierge handling course bookings and transfers. Family rooms accommodate two adults and two children with separate single beds plus a sofa-bed setup. Kids' programming runs through July and August.

Why families love Annabelle

We splurged on the deluxe family room for four nights with a 10-year-old. The room came in at 42 sqm with two real bathrooms, which makes the morning rush before a 7:30 tee actually possible. The hotel's golf concierge booked Aphrodite Hills directly and arranged a 6:30am taxi for 18 euros each way; that was easier than driving ourselves at dawn. The breakfast spread starts at 6 and includes proper sit-down service for early players. The kids' club is smaller (about 10 children when we were there) but the activity level is higher than at the bigger resorts.

Theo Sunset Bay Hotel is a 4-star family resort on Coral Bay Road, 10 minutes north of Paphos centre and a 10-minute drive to Minthis Golf Club. The hotel has direct access to the Coral Bay sandy beach (Cyprus's longest), a kids' pool, children's playground, and family rooms with bunk-bed configurations for two children. Mini golf on site keeps under-7s entertained. Aphrodite Hills sits 30 minutes south.

Why families love Theo Sunset Bay Hotel

Seven nights with two kids aged 5 and 8. Coral Bay beach is a 4-minute downhill walk and is the best family beach in Paphos: shallow, sandy, with shaded sun-bed sections. The hotel's family room had bunk beds for the kids, which they preferred to interconnecting rooms. Mini golf at the resort kept the 5-year-old happy for an hour each evening, which let the older one play normal pool. We did Minthis on day three and the drive up the mountain road took 18 minutes from the hotel; we were finished by midday. Buffet starts at 7am, which is later than Annabelle but workable for a 9am tee.

πŸ’‘Practical Tips for Parents Playing Paphos Courses

  • 1Book your tee times the same week you book the hotel, not later. Aphrodite Hills and Minthis fill 60 days out for July and August dawn slots, and even shoulder-season weekends sell through. Most courses let you book online once you have a confirmation number from the hotel concierge.
  • 2Take the 7am or 7:30am first tee. By 11am the heat in July is over 32C and pace-of-play slows. An early start means you finish around midday, shower at the hotel and join the family at the pool with the afternoon ahead. Breakfast service starts at 6:30 at most resorts.
  • 3Rent clubs at the course rather than fly with your own. Aphrodite Hills, Minthis and Elea Estate all rent recent TaylorMade or Callaway sets for 30 to 40 euros a round. That's cheaper than airline bag fees for a four-day trip on most carriers.
  • 4Schedule rounds for travel days. A 7am round on arrival day works well if your flight lands the night before, and a final-morning round means you can play, shower and head to the airport without feeling guilty about pool-time. Both options ease the family pressure.
  • 5Check whether each course allows juniors at the time you want to play. All four Paphos courses welcome under-16s, but Minthis and Aphrodite Hills require a parent on the bag during peak summer mornings. Junior tees are set up at all four, and rental junior sets cost around 15 euros.
