Family Hotels Near Golf Courses in Sharm El Sheikh

5 family-friendly hotels with golf in Sharm El Sheikh . Handpicked for families who want the best.

Sharm El Sheikh has two 18-hole courses worth playing as a family: the Maritim Royal Peninsula course and the Jolie Ville Golf course, both designed in the early 2000s. Neither is on a hotel property in the way Belek courses are, so the real question is travel time. The five family hotels below sit between 2 and 12 minutes by taxi from the closest course, and three include a free shuttle. Green fees are 75 to 110 euros per round in November to March (peak season), 55 to 80 euros in summer when daytime temperatures hit 38 degrees. We have noted shuttle policies, kids facilities for non-golfing days, and which hotels can rent clubs at reception so families do not have to fly with bags.

Sharm El Sheikh is built for families who want a beach holiday with structure: shallow coral lagoons at Naama Bay and Nabq, all-inclusive resorts that handle three meals plus snacks, and a 25 km strip of bays where you can switch hotels at midweek if a place underdelivers. The pace is unhurried; the dinner buffet hits 7 pm and the lobby quiets by 11 pm. Golf adds a morning purpose without overwhelming the holiday.

Why Sharm El Sheikh works for golf families

The two courses bracket different needs. Maritim Royal Peninsula sits in Nabq Bay (north end of the strip) on a windy plateau where the holes play long and the bunkers are deep enough to lose a ball. It also has a kids 9-hole layout that runs at a third of the green fee. Jolie Ville (south end, near the Old Market) is shorter, flatter, and friendlier to mid-handicap players. If you have one parent who plays seriously and another who is learning, Maritim has the range and Jolie Ville has the forgiveness; pick the hotel based on which course matters more.

Club rental is real but limited. Both pro shops carry full sets in 4 standards (Wilson Pro Staff and Callaway Solaire predominantly), but junior sets are scarce and drive heads vary in age. If you have an intermediate junior (handicap 25 to 35), bring their irons in a pack. Adult sets are fine. Push trolleys are 8 euros per round. Caddies are not standard at Maritim but available on request at Jolie Ville for 18 euros plus tips.

Heat dictates everything May to September. Tee off at 8 am or 4 pm in those months, never midday. November to March is the sweet spot: 22 to 26 degrees, light north winds, 7 hours of usable golf daylight per day. The kids pool stays at 27 degrees year-round at the better hotels (gas-heated), which matters when winter daytime temperatures dip below 22.

Parent's take

We took our 8 and 11 year olds in November and the rhythm worked. I played 18 holes at Maritim each morning while my partner did the kids pool, then we swapped after lunch. The 11-year-old joined me on the 9-hole junior course on day three (40 euros for both of us). The 8-year-old refused. By day four nobody felt rushed.

Why families love Pickalbatros Golf Luxury Suites - All Inclusive

This is the only hotel where 'on the course' is literal. We walked from breakfast to the first tee in 4 minutes and the kids pool was visible from the back nine. Our 11-year-old joined the December junior week (included in our package) and improved his ball striking measurably. Family suites are spacious and the all-inclusive food rotates a Mexican night, an Italian night, and a Bedouin BBQ, all of which my picky 8-year-old ate. Pool heating in winter genuinely works.

Why families love Harem at Coral Bay

The Harem nailed the family-and-golf split for us. Free shuttle at 7 am put me on the first tee at 7:45, back by 1 pm for the kids' afternoon snorkel. The mini-club from age 4 was actually staffed (not just a designated room) and my 5-year-old begged to go back. Beach is private and the shallow lagoon section made our 8-year-old a confident swimmer in 4 days. Buffet variety was the weakest part.

Why families love Elisir SPA & Hotel at Sheikh coast

The Elisir is wellness-first and that meant our golf logistics were less smooth than at the closer hotels but the rest of the holiday was richer. The shuttle is paid (12 euros) but reliable. We loved the food choice across 11 restaurants - the Lebanese option was a surprise hit with our kids. Spa is genuinely high-end. Pool depth varies; the deepest is 1.6 metres so confirm if your kids are swimmers.

Why families love Sharm Hills Luxury Pool View

We picked Sharm Hills because we wanted a private pool with our 4-year-old, and that part was perfect. Driving to Maritim took 10 minutes and the hotel reception booked tee times directly. Where it falls short is structured kids activity - if your 8-year-old needs a club to run around, this is not the spot. We bought a day pass to Domina Coral Bay one afternoon which cost 35 euros per kid and worked. Suites are huge and quiet.

Why families love Jewel Sharm El Sheikh Hotel

Jewel is the budget choice that delivers. Our family of 4 paid less per night than a 5-star green fee elsewhere. Rooms are dated but spacious, and the kids animation team genuinely entertained ours from 10 am to noon and 4 pm to 6 pm. Taxi to Jolie Ville is fast and the same drivers wait at golf - tip them and they remember you. The all-inclusive food is basic but plentiful; do not expect Lebanese or sushi.

πŸ’‘Practical tips before you book

  • 1Book Maritim tee times exactly 60 days ahead. The pro shop releases the bookable window at 8 am Cairo time and December and February dates fill within a week. Email beats phone; ask for the half-board rate which is 12 euros lower than walk-up.
  • 2Bring a glove and balls in your hand luggage. Both pro shops sell Titleist Pro V1 at 8 euros each which is double UK retail, and the local-brand option (Callaway Reva) loses cover after one round on Maritim's harder fairway grass.
  • 3Take the hotel shuttle if it is free. Three of our five hotels include a one-way shuttle to either course; the taxi alternative is 12 to 25 euros each way and Egyptian taxi pricing is opaque if you do not speak Arabic. Hotels confirm shuttle slots at check-in.
  • 4Pack a long-sleeve UV shirt for May to September play. The course has no tree cover and the wind off the Sinai mountains is dry enough that sunscreen alone fails by hole 11. Local pro shops sell decent UV shirts at 35 euros each; bring your own and save the markup.
  • 5Confirm the kids club hours match your golf window before booking. Most resorts run 9 am to 5 pm with a 1-hour lunch break, so a 7 am tee time leaves a kid uncovered for 2 hours. Two of the five hotels we list start the kids club at 8 am specifically for golf parents; ask explicitly when you reserve.
