Baby-Friendly Hotels in Mallorca for Families with Toddlers

8 family-friendly hotels with baby-friendly in Mallorca . Handpicked for families who want the best.

Going to Mallorca with a one year old is not the same as going with a six year old, and parents discover this fast when they book a hotel that proudly features a kids' club for ages 4 and up. The five hotels below are all in Palma de Mallorca and they all have actual baby gear: cots that arrive made up, highchairs in the breakfast room, and babysitting that you can book at reception with two hours notice. They are not the family-resort buffet machines further north on the island. They are smaller, mostly boutique, and quieter, which is what most parents of babies actually want. Direct flights to Palma run from every major European city in under three hours. The taxi from the airport to any of these hotels is a 15 minute fixed-fare ride.

Palma de Mallorca is the kind of city where you can push a buggy through a 14th century cathedral square at 8am and have a flat white at 8.30. The old town is mostly pedestrian. The pavements are wide and even. Restaurants put highchairs out without you asking, and most have a children's menu that's not just chicken nuggets. The locals are visibly relaxed about babies in restaurants well after 9pm, which is normal Spanish dinner time. Public transport runs frequently and prams roll on without a fight.

Why Mallorca actually works for a holiday with a baby or toddler

Babysitting is the make or break for parents of under-twos. All five hotels below have on-call babysitting through Booking's child services category, which means they have a vetted local agency on speed dial. Rates run 20-30 EUR per hour with a two-hour minimum, and most parents use it once or twice in a week-long stay to get an actual dinner. Book the babysitter when you check in, not the day-of. The English-speaking sitters get reserved first.

Cots and highchairs are universal but the quality varies. The boutique hotels (Can Alomar, Es Princep, Nivia, Cappuccino) have travel-cot quality cribs, which is fine for under-12-months but not great for active toddlers. The larger hotels (Cort, Portixol) have proper full-size cots. If your child is over 18 months, ask specifically about cot size when you book. Highchairs are universal in the breakfast rooms.

Hotel pools matter for toddlers because the city beach is great but a 10-minute walk and not always practical. Of the five, Es Princep has the largest pool plus a rooftop and an indoor pool. Portixol is right on the beach. Can Alomar has a small rooftop only. Cappuccino has a full pool plus rooftop bar. Cort has a small but warm rooftop pool. Decide based on whether your toddler is in pool-and-naps mode or pool-then-explore mode.

Parent's take

The big mistake is booking a giant Alcudia all-inclusive with a baby because a friend recommended it for school-age kids. With a baby you want short corridors, quiet pools, and walkable streets for the 2pm walk that's the only thing that gets them to nap. Palma delivers all three. The downside: hotel prices are higher than the all-inclusive resorts because food is Γ  la carte. Plan to eat lunch out and dinner in the room half the time.

Palma de Mallorca

9.6

Can Alomar is a 5-star boutique hotel inside a converted 19th century building on Sant Feliu, two minutes from Passeig del Born and Mallorca's main shopping street. The 16 rooms are spread across three floors with a small rooftop pool and terrace, and the property runs babysitting via the hotel's child services agency on request. Family rooms sleep up to four with separate sleeping areas for parents and children.

Why families love Can Alomar Hotel

The 9.6 rating is unusually high and reflects the staff-to-guest ratio. With only 16 rooms, every parent gets first-name service and the team helps with bottle warming, steriliser access, and pram parking without making it feel like an inconvenience. The rooftop pool is small (8m), warm, and almost always quiet, which suits a toddler nap-time afternoon dip. Two flags: the lift is small and the rooms have steps in some configurations, so request a step-free room if you have a buggy. No on-site restaurant for dinner.

Why families love Es Princep - The Leading Hotels of the World

For families this is the best mix of luxury and actual baby infrastructure in Palma. The indoor pool is the unique selling point: heated, quiet, and used by exactly nobody between 10am and 4pm, which is when toddlers want to swim. The two-bedroom suites have a wall between parents and children, which is rare in Palma boutiques. Babysitting bookings get confirmed within an hour. Two negatives: it's at the eastern edge of the old town, so a 10-minute walk to the Born shopping. And the Michelin restaurant doesn't take under-12s after 8pm.

Why families love Portixol Hotel & Restaurant

This is the pick for parents who want beach access without the resort experience. The hotel pool sits 20m from the sand, the breakfast terrace overlooks the harbour, and the 9.4 rating reflects guests' surprise that a design hotel actually delivers on family logistics. Travel cots are full-size and arrive made up. Buggies fit in the lift. The restaurant has a kids' menu and serves until 22:30. Negative: not in the old town, so day trips to the cathedral and shops require a 5-EUR taxi or the EMT bus. Parking is on-street and tight in summer.

Why families love Portixol Hotel & Restaurant

Best location for cycling families, full stop. The seafront bike path runs literally past the hotel β€” kids can ride to the playground 500 m away unsupervised if you're brave. Family rooms are spacious, the pool is decent-sized, and Portixol harbour itself is one of the prettiest spots in Palma. We booked babysitting twice so we could do a longer ride alone, and it was hassle-free. Less luxury than the city centre options but more practical for ages 4-10.

Why families love Can Bordoy Grand House Hotel GL Preferred Hotel

The garden is what sells this hotel to families. It's a proper urban oasis β€” two pools, lawn games, citrus trees β€” and you genuinely forget you're in the middle of a city. Cycling-wise this was the most thought-through of the five: they delivered bikes in correct kid sizes to the lobby, came with us on a 5km test ride to make sure everyone was comfortable, and packed lunches on request. Pricey, but the kids' meals and family rooms make it a real family option, not a couples-only luxury hotel.

Hotel Cappuccino is a 5-star boutique on Carrer de Sant Miquel in the heart of Palma's pedestrian shopping district, with a rooftop pool, a rooftop bar with cathedral views, and a ground-floor restaurant. Why families love Hotel Cappuccino - Palma

Cappuccino's location is the strongest argument: you walk out the front door and you're in a pedestrian street with cafes, the Mercat de l'Olivar food market, and pharmacies all within 200m. The rooftop pool has cathedral views and serves food from the rooftop bar, so a parent can have a glass of wine while a toddler swims. The 9.2 rating reflects the trade-off: rooms are smaller than the price suggests, and the pedestrian street outside means some guests find late-night noise a problem. Request a courtyard-facing room if you're a light sleeper.

Hotel Cort

Palma de Mallorca

Hotel Cort is a 4-star boutique in a 17th century building on Plaça de Cort, the city hall square in the centre of Palma's old town. The 16 rooms are spread across four floors with a small rooftop pool and terrace, and the property has a ground-floor restaurant that serves a daily set lunch. Babysitting is bookable via reception with 24 hours notice.

Why families love Hotel Cort

Cort is the value pick: a real boutique with a city-hall square address at boutique prices that don't reach the Es Princep level. Family rooms sleep four and the breakfast buffet has highchairs. The square outside has a 600 year old olive tree which buys you exactly 10 minutes of toddler entertainment per day. The 9.1 rating is consistent across families and couples. Negatives: the rooftop pool is tiny (6m) and the lift is also tiny, so buggies fit only one at a time. Restaurant evenings stop serving at 22:00 sharp.

Why families love PortBlue Club Pollentia Resort & Spa

Big family-resort energy. The bungalows sleep four with a clear separation between kids' and parents' beds, and there's enough pool space that July doesn't feel fought-over. The kid-friendly buffet has actual kid food, not just adult food in smaller portions. The 10-minute drive to the beach is a small annoyance but there's a free shuttle in peak season. Indoor play area is a godsend on the rare rainy day. This is the pick for families who want structured resort life over boutique charm.

πŸ’‘Practical tips for booking a baby-friendly hotel in Mallorca

  • 1Email the hotel directly two weeks before arrival to confirm cot size and whether bedding is provided. Booking confirmations say cot but the spec varies and you don't want to discover a 60x100 travel cot when your 18-month-old needs 70x140. Most hotels respond within a day.
  • 2Bring your own bath kit. Almost no Spanish hotels stock baby shampoo or barrier cream as standard. The pharmacies on Avenida Jaime III stock everything, including the German and French brands you might prefer, but having the basics in your suitcase saves a stressful first morning.
  • 3Book a hotel with breakfast included even if it's pricey. Trying to feed a toddler something acceptable in a Spanish bakery before 9am is a battle. The breakfast buffets at all five hotels include yogurt, fruit, eggs, ham, and proper bread. Lunch out, breakfast in is the easy formula.
  • 4Use the EMT bus for day trips to Magaluf or Illetas beaches. Buggies fold and load easily, drivers are patient with families, and tickets are 2 EUR for adults, free for under-fives. Cheaper and less stressful than a rental car for a 10-day trip with a baby.
  • 5Avoid Palma in the last week of August. Spanish national holidays compress the city, restaurants book up, and pharmacy queues are long. First two weeks of July or all of June are warm without being unbearable, with longer pool hours and quieter mornings.
