For children aged 4 to 12, Sunny Beach is one of the easiest places on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast to find a hotel with a real kids club: three of the hotels below publish a 4 to 12 club, and Asteria Family adds a separate club for 13 to 17 year olds. Below 4, the picture changes, because none of the clubs I could verify takes toddlers on their own. Eight hotels in our Sunny Beach selection list a kids club, out of twenty published, with an average guest score of 8.8 across 8,885 reviews. I have sorted them by what matters to parents: the age the club accepts, the hours it runs, the pools and slides your child can actually use, and the rules that catch families out.
Sunny Beach, Slanchev Bryag in Bulgarian, is a purpose-built package resort: a long sandy bay lined from end to end with large all-inclusive hotels, and a lively central strip. The old town of Nesebar, a UNESCO World Heritage site, sits on its rocky peninsula just south of the resort, and Burgas airport is the usual arrival point. For families the deal is simple: wide sand and hotels built around children, in exchange for crowds in July and August.

Sunny Beach is a long sandy bay just north of Nesebar, reached through Burgas airport, and most of its large hotels sell all-inclusive packages with animation built in. Clubs are therefore common, but the age bands, the hours and the slide height limits change from one hotel to the next, and few hotels publish them clearly.
The 4 to 12 band is the norm here, and it is the only band I could confirm in writing. Asteria Family Sunny Beach runs its kids club for 4 to 12 year olds with professional animators, six days a week, according to the hotel's 2025 factsheet. DIT Evrika Beach Club Hotel and HVD Club Bor publish the same 4 to 12 range. For DIT Majestic, Effect Grand Victoria, Helena Sands and Dreams, a club is listed but no age range is published, so ask the hotel for it in writing before paying a deposit if your child is 3 or 4.
Under-fours are where Sunny Beach clubs fall short. None of the eight hotels publishes a club that takes children under 4 without a parent, so with a two- or three-year-old you are really choosing a pool, not a club. Hotel Laguna Park & Aqua Club stands out here: its Aqua Club, reserved for hotel guests, has the Octopus Kids' Pool, a shallow pool in the relax zone meant for children aged 1 to 4, plus the Pirate Ship attraction pool for older children. The hotel sits in the centre of the resort, about 300 m from the sand.
Teenagers are the other gap. Asteria Family is the only hotel in this list with a published teen club, for 13 to 17 year olds, built around PlayStation and electronic games. Everywhere else, a 13-year-old is too old for the mini club and is left with the pool, the evening show and the sea. If you travel with a 9-year-old and a 14-year-old, that split matters more than the star rating: Asteria keeps both children in a supervised programme, while at the other hotels the elder one will spend most of the day with you.
Slides come with a height rule that catches many parents of six-year-olds. At Laguna Park's Aqua Club, the Black Hole & Rafting slide and the four-lane Multi-Slide are for riders of at least 130 cm, and the Space Boat ring slide takes children under 130 cm only with an adult. Guest reports from DIT Evrika describe the same 130 cm threshold on its slides, with younger children accompanied by an adult. Measure your child before you book: at 125 cm, a hotel water park shrinks to a splash area and a couple of shared rides.
Club hours tell you how much rest you will actually get. At DIT Evrika, the mini club listed by easyJet Holidays runs from 10:00 to 12:30 and from 15:00 to 17:30, with a mini disco from 20:30 to 21:00: five hours of club, not a full day, and nothing over lunch. Plan the dates around the Bulgarian school calendar as well. The school year starts on 15 September every year, and the 2026 spring break ran from 4 to 13 April, so mid-September is when Bulgarian families head home; ask your hotel whether its club still runs on your week.

My first pick for children aged 4 to 12 is Asteria Family Sunny Beach, because it publishes its club ages, runs animation six days a week and, rare in this resort, adds a 13 to 17 teen club for an older sibling. For a toddler I would go to Hotel Laguna Park & Aqua Club, whose guests-only water park includes the Octopus pool built for ages 1 to 4. Until DIT Majestic, Dreams or Helena Sands confirm their club ages in writing, I would not choose any of them for the club, even if Helena Sands holds the top guest score here, 9.2.

Eight nights all-inclusive in late June with kids aged 5 and 9. The three courts mean you don't have to fight for slots even at peak, and the senior coach (a former national-team player) ran a four-day junior programme that the 9-year-old loved. The 5-year-old was a bit young for tennis but the kids club had a Mini Tennis hour twice a week with foam balls on a smaller court, which was perfect. Six nights all-inclusive in early September with two kids aged 6 and 10. Off-peak the resort runs at maybe 60 percent occupancy and the single tennis court was effectively ours every morning. The practice wall is a real bonus โ both kids spent half an hour on it most days, hitting forehands without needing a partner. All-inclusive here is cheaper than the bigger DIT Majestic but the food range is smaller (mostly buffet, no speciality restaurant). The kids club did a Tuesday and Thursday mini-tennis session that the 6-year-old enjoyed. Beach is sandy but the pebble strip at the waterline took a bit of getting used to.
