Family Hotels in Sunny Beach with Tennis Courts
5 family-friendly hotels with tennis in Sunny Beach . Handpicked for families who want the best.
Sunny Beach has one thing most other Black Sea resorts don't: roughly 15 hotels with their own tennis courts, most included in the all-inclusive rate. That makes a 7-day tennis-and-beach break achievable on a four-figure budget for a family of four, including flights from northern Europe. The five hotels below all have at least one hard or clay court on site, rental rackets at reception, and a kids club that runs while you play. Sunny Beach courts get hot in mid-afternoon, so morning slots before 10am and twilight slots after 19:00 are the realistic family option, and most resorts run their courts on a sign-up sheet at the activities desk rather than online booking.
Sunny Beach is unapologetic package-resort Bulgaria. The vibe is friendly rather than sophisticated, prices stay below most Mediterranean equivalents, and the all-inclusive flag flies on roughly 80 percent of the hotels. Tennis facilities sit alongside water slides and kids clubs rather than at standalone clubs. Court etiquette is relaxed, dress codes don't exist, and most hotels have a pro on staff during peak weeks who can give a 30-minute hit lesson if asked. Off-court the resort runs to bumper boats and pirate playgrounds.
πΎWhy Sunny Beach Works for Tennis-Playing Families
Court access included or near-free: most family hotels with tennis throw the courts in with the all-inclusive package, or charge a token 5 euros an hour. That's a fundamental difference from Greek or Italian resorts where court rental adds up fast over a week.
Junior coaching at sensible prices: Helena Sands and DIT Majestic both run optional kids' tennis programmes at roughly 25 euros for a one-hour group session, with rental junior rackets included. Most schedule sessions for early morning before the sun gets serious.
Floodlit evenings: by July, mid-day court time is uncomfortable for kids. Floodlit courts at the bigger hotels mean you can play at 19:00 to 21:00 once temperatures drop, which is the time most family doubles actually happen.
Beach proximity: every hotel below sits within 500 metres of the Black Sea sand, so the day rhythm is morning court, lunch, afternoon beach. The water shelves gently, lifeguards are present in summer, and beach gear (sunbeds, parasols) is included with most all-inclusive rates.
Parent's take
We asked a dad of two who plays Helena Sands every August what tennis-friendly Sunny Beach actually costs. His answer: about 1,800 euros for the week for four people, all-inclusive, with two morning sessions on court included plus three optional junior lessons. That's substantially below what he'd pay in Mallorca for the same set-up. The five hotels below offer that same value equation.

Why families love Helena Sands
Six nights all-inclusive in early July with two kids aged 7 and 11. Court access is free for guests and we booked daily 8am slots for the week at check-in. The surface is decent synthetic clay, lined for both singles and doubles. Junior tennis ran 9am to 10am with a Bulgarian coach who spoke functional English; both kids came back happy. The kids club here is one of the bigger ones in Sunny Beach (about 30 children at peak) and has a proper playground separate from the splash zone. All-inclusive food is buffet plus three speciality restaurants you can book once per stay.

Flamingo Beach Hotel is a 3-star B&B option in central Sunny Beach with two outdoor tennis courts, around 200 metres from the beach. Family rooms accommodate two adults and two children, and a children's playground sits between the pool and tennis area.

Why families love Flamingo Beach Hotel
Five nights B&B with one child aged 9. We picked Flamingo for the price (under 80 euros a night for a family room) and the courts. The courts here are basic hard courts, fenced, with one floodlit. We had them to ourselves most mornings before 10am. No on-site coach but we'd brought our own rackets and the kid was happy to hit with a parent for an hour. The breakfast buffet is small but solid (eggs, fruit, pastries). The kids club is informal β basically a play area with one supervisor β but the playground itself is good.

DIT Majestic Beach Resort

DIT Majestic Beach Resort is a 4-star all-inclusive with three tennis courts (two synthetic clay, one hard) and full junior coaching during summer. The resort sits in central Sunny Beach with direct beach access. Tennis equipment rental (rackets, balls) is included for guests, and floodlights run until 22:00. Kids club takes ages 4 to 12 from 10:00 to 17:00 daily.

Why families love DIT Majestic Beach Resort
Eight nights all-inclusive in late June with kids aged 5 and 9. The three courts mean you don't have to fight for slots even at peak, and the senior coach (a former national-team player) ran a four-day junior programme that the 9-year-old loved. The 5-year-old was a bit young for tennis but the kids club had a Mini Tennis hour twice a week with foam balls on a smaller court, which was perfect. All-inclusive includes table-service dinner some nights, not just buffet. The resort is huge so it doesn't feel crowded even at 80 percent occupancy.

Dreams Sunny Beach Resort and Spa - Premium All Inclusive

Dreams Sunny Beach Resort and Spa is a 5-star premium all-inclusive at the north end of the bay with two tennis courts, floodlights, and a dedicated tennis pro during July and August. Why families love Dreams Sunny Beach Resort and Spa - Premium All Inclusive
Seven nights premium all-inclusive in mid-July with kids aged 8 and 12. Premium versus standard at Dreams means a la carte restaurants are unlimited (not once per stay), and the difference matters with growing kids. The two courts have full floodlighting and we played most evenings 19:30 to 21:00 when temperatures dropped. Both kids did the four-day junior programme: 50 euros total for 4 hours of coaching including racket rental, which is a fraction of UK club prices. The spa has a kids' menu (foot bath, mini-manicure) which kept our 12-year-old happy on a non-court afternoon.

DIT Evrika Beach Club Hotel - All Inclusive
Central-South Sunny Beach
Very Good
1,779 reviews
DIT Evrika Beach Club Hotel is a 4-star all-inclusive in central-south Sunny Beach with one tennis court and a separate practice wall, popular with families on tighter budgets. Court hire is free for guests, with rental rackets at reception. The kids club runs from 10:00 to 17:00 with a daily mini-tennis activity, and the beach is across the access road from the hotel pool.

Why families love DIT Evrika Beach Club Hotel - All Inclusive
Six nights all-inclusive in early September with two kids aged 6 and 10. Off-peak the resort runs at maybe 60 percent occupancy and the single tennis court was effectively ours every morning. The practice wall is a real bonus β both kids spent half an hour on it most days, hitting forehands without needing a partner. All-inclusive here is cheaper than the bigger DIT Majestic but the food range is smaller (mostly buffet, no speciality restaurant). The kids club did a Tuesday and Thursday mini-tennis session that the 6-year-old enjoyed. Beach is sandy but the pebble strip at the waterline took a bit of getting used to.
π‘Practical Tips for Court Time and Coaching
- 1Book courts at check-in for the entire week, not session by session. Reception desks at all five hotels take court bookings in 60-minute slots; if you grab a 7am or 8am slot for every morning at arrival, you're set. Walk-up availability gets thin from 9am onwards in July and August.
- 2Bring your own tennis shoes. Hotel rental rackets are decent (Wilson or Babolat at most resorts) but tennis shoes aren't supplied, and the synthetic-clay surfaces grip differently from regular trainers. Junior tennis shoes are easy to forget when packing for a beach holiday.
- 3Schedule junior coaching for the first three days. Coaches run pre-arranged blocks during arrivals/changeover days and slots fill fast. Lessons are typically 60 minutes for groups of 4 to 6 children at around 25 euros per child, including racket rental for the session.
- 4Pack water and sunscreen for the courts. Most hotel courts are full sun without shade structures, and even at 8am in July the surface heats up fast. Take a 1.5-litre water bottle per person and reapply sunscreen between sets. The kids club won't usually run on-court, so kids need supervision if they come along.
- 5Use the floodlit courts after dinner. Evening doubles between 19:30 and 21:30 are the sweet spot in summer, when temperatures drop to a tolerable 24 to 27C. Court fees are usually identical to daytime, and most hotels keep the floodlights on until 22:00 in peak season.
