Best Hotels with Activities in Suwon

Suwon is the walled city 30 to 45 minutes south of Seoul by subway, built around Hwaseong Fortress, the UNESCO-listed fortification King Jeongjo finished in 1796. Families base themselves near Suwon Station or Suwon City Hall Station, both on lines running straight into central Seoul, so a day trip to the capital does not mean checking out of the hotel. Inside the fortress walls, Paldalmun Gate and Hwaseong Haenggung Palace sit in a compact, walkable old town, while the newer hotel strip around Ingye-dong runs 3 to 10 km out toward Gangnam Station and the COEX side of the metro area. Suwon has no beach-resort pool scene: family hotels here work off family rooms, hot tubs and spa facilities more than water parks, so a heated or private pool, where one exists, is worth checking specifically rather than assumed.
