We ended up at Anook Hotel Suwon Station because it was the only pool option within walking distance of Hwaseong Fortress, and it turned out to be the right call: after two hours on the fortress walls with a nine-year-old asking to go home, the private pool back at the hotel bought us another hour before anyone needed dinner. It's 3 km from the fortress gate, close enough that we didn't need a taxi either way.
